Kashmir Once Known for its beauty has been robbed by the enemies. Before 1947 the Jammu and Kashmir was a sovereign state it had a vast territory starting from Lakhanpore to near Tibetan Border and Lakhanpore to Chakoti bordering to Pakistan and had its own rulers the last among them was Maharaja Hari Singh. Soon after the split of the Bharat into two independent countries namely India and Pakistan. Both these countries were under the occupation of Britain soon after their independence from Britain they constantly kept their eyes on the Jammu and Kashmir because of its natural resources and the beauty for which it was know form centuries together Most of the princely states either merged with the India or with the Pakistan. But the ruler of the Jammu and Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh totally rejected the proposal of its accession either with Pakistan or India. The then ruler of the Pakistan Ali Mohammad Jinnah was irked by the statement of the Maharaja (Ruler) The former planned to attack on the soil of the Jammu and Kashmir through his tribesmen who had almost captured half of the Kashmir especially North part of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as some of its part is still under the Occupation of the Pakistan known as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). Maharaja the ruler of the Jammu and Kashmir had no sufficient men and material to repulse the attack. So it was a compelling reason for him to seek the help of his neighboring country (India) to defend the Kashmir. The Indian troops landed on the Kashmir valley and they retreated the tribesmen of up to the POK since than the two parts of the Jammu and Kashmir are being occupied by India and Pakistan known as IOK and POK. The Indian Troopers mostly belong to the Hindu community and on the other hand the majority population of the Kashmir is of Muslims. The two different thinking’s, Cultures, races, religions is also the cause of the conflict between the Indian Troopers and the majority community of the Indian Occupied Kashmir. These differences continued till date.
On the other hand Pakistan also wanted to take avenge for its early defeat meted out to them by the Indian troopers. They attacked the Jammu and Kashmir once again in 1965 through its tribesmen; unfortunately it was once again bad luck for Pakistan that the guerilla war of Pakistan turned in to a fulfulleged conflict between Indian and the Pakistan and on the Intervention of the UNO the war was stopped. Till 1971 both the countries obeyed the UNO but the skirmishes were continuing in 1971 India also adopted the same policy of the Pakistan and this time a proxy war was launched by the India in the east Pakistan in the garb of Mukhti Bahani (Bangladeshi Peoples Militant Group) though they were all border security forces of India in the civics. The had a full support of the masses of East Pakistan under the leadership of Mujeeb-ur-Rehman consequently the Pakistan troopers had to surrender before the Indian army and the Bangladesh came In to existence.
Many elections were held in the IOK every time India selected their own stooges to consolidate their position in the IOK. In 1978 the election were once again held in the IOK this time the people actively participated in the election and fielded their own candidates under one banner and the party known as Muslim United Front (MUF) . The entire population of the Kashmir even the most parts of the Jammu also favored the MUF. But the center government (Indian Government) did not like this trend. They indulged in the mass rigging and National Conference ( regional political party) whose patron Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah always favored the India was given a two third Majority they framed the government in Jammu and Kashmir their ministers especially One Mohiudin Shah of Amirakadal constituency got arrested all those who had actively participated in the MUF they were Jailed and brutally assaulted in the Jails prominent among them was Yasin Malik , Ishfaq Wani, Mushtaq Zargar and others who later went to the POK to seek the arms training to take their avenge from the National Conference. This gave the good opportunity to the Pakistan and they virtually cashed it Pakistan imparted the arms training to them and were pushed back in to the IOK. Initially the people were ignorant about it but by and by it gained the movement. They waged the war against India and this Guerrilla Proxy war was a great threat to the India but the people of the Kashmir whole heartedly supported the Gun movement in the Kashmir.
At the outset of the struggle the slogan of the Kashmir was an Independent Kashmir which was against the aspirations of the Pakistan. The people of Kashmir came to the streets with the slogan of Independent Kashmir about 1.5 million Kashmiris marched towards the UN office stationed at Srinagar the summer Capital of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOPK) to register their protest and submitted a memorandum asking UNO to intervene in the Kashmir problem. The Pakistan Government did not like it as they always wanted and want that the Jammu and Kashmir should be the part of the Pakistan. The Pakistan government sabotaged this freedom movement of the Kashmiris and the they framed different outfits in the Kashmir whose motive is the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan. This divided the thought of the Kashmiris and the movement became lifeless, though the moment is going on
The India troops always considered it a challenge. The troopers always tried to suppress the ongoing movement. The Special Task Force (STF Indian Police) was introduced in the valley to crush the subversives and separatists’ by the Indian army ant the STF. The STF consists of the Doggras, Ladakhis and Gujjars who always favor the India and its occupation in IOK. The reason that the Doggras are also Hindus, Ladakhis Buddhas and the Gujjars who reside on the borders and are always at the goodwill of the Indian army. The other force was renegades who were surrendered militants of different outfits had let loose the reign of terror in the entire Jammu and Kashmir especially in the Kashmir valley. The Indian troopers without any rhyme and reason thrash the passersby and even a small refusal for purchasing any of the commodities to the Indian trooper who stays in the bunkers constructed on the roadsides on every nook and corner of the IOK have to pay heavy price. The troopers used to come in the wee hours and asked the people to assemble at one place for identification parade to trace out the militants on many occasions most of the Kashmiris were not allowed to attend the natural call and the women who use dot stay in the houses were also not going to pass in presence of the Indian troopers and they used to spew the lewd remarks on the women folk during crack downs this was reunite in the Kashmir for about 10 to 15 years and even selective nocturnal crackdowns were being held in and around the Kashmir. Roughly estimate says that this struggle consumed about one hundred thousand lives forty thousand women got widow about nine thousand people have disappeared altogether from the Kashmir and from some parts of the Jammu the pretext of the Crackdown used to harass the women molestation was a common practice by the troopers in the Indian occupied Kashmir. The school girl’s college girls faced lewd remarks on roadsides by the Indian troopers. Nocturnal crackdowns are routine in the Kashmir. Gun tooting troops would asks the men folk to assemble in a courtyard while the women are at the will and the risk of the troopers have let loose the reign of the terror. In a recent past a military convoy killed two school boys when they were walking on the roadside. It was an unprovoked firing. The spokesmen refuted these allegations by saying that the troopers fired for their self defence as the boys were travelling in a bus in which the militants were also travelling who fired at the Indian troopers is a totally false.
The world famous Dal Lake known for its serene beauty has become the victim of the politics the self-centered politicians are making the fast buck as they allowed the Dal Lake dewellers to encourach upon the Dal Lake as a vote bank. The Dal has reduced from 56 square kilometers to just 11 kms
Some of the Indian politicians based in Kashmir and belonging to different political parties who have been given the long rope by the Central Government (Indian Government) their patronage has given them enough encourage to act any immoral act with in the valley. In a recent past some politicians were found involved in the sex rackets. They used to befool the innocent Kashmiri girls and luring them the Government jobs which was a compelling reason for them to get indulge in sex.
Two years earlier some politicians were found involved in the sex scandals which were established by the court and these sex involved ministers were jailed for the crime and certain politicians were kept at bay though they were actively involved in the sex scandal. The Judiciary which is almost sold acquitted them from this scandal.
Judiciary in Kashmir has little effect most of the administrators refuse to budge as one of the Indian police officers had been directed by the court to register the First investigation report FIR in the police station. The police officer used to sabotage the heirs of the missing persons by saying them that the action is being taken and the FIR has been lodged but it proved to be false when the concerned police officer was transferred and his successor showed his ignorance when the court directed him to show the FIR.
The habeas corps has little effect in the IOK as most of the persons detained in the police jails are not being presented before the court with in 24 hours as per the above writ
Kashmir is a beautiful girl adorned with different ornaments. Everybody wants to rob her may it be a politician, Policeman, Lawyer, bureaucrat, Doctor or a soldier? All are ready to tarnish the image and chastity of this beauty cupid.
The money which has come from Government of India for the last 50 years would have definitely made the Kashmir the really Paradise on the earth. But it went in to the hands of the
Corrupt and incapable politicians. Had it been properly used for its purpose the agitation and the slogan of leave the Kashmir would have never taken the birth though it was never part of Indian

The right of Expression and assembly is enshrined in the Indian constitution but when it comes in to the practical is all in the leaves of book. A man who is known AS "Journalist" who expresses his views and espouses the cause of community or the masses is threatened for his life or imprisonment if he writes anything against the government as i could observe it in Indian Administered Kashmir as a Photojournalist.
I am a photojournalist i can not express my views and observations through my writings but my pictures gives the entire look of the scene and perhaps the picture is self explanatory of the situation.
I and 15 other colleagues of mine was roughed up by the Indian troops and even on many occasions i was threatened for the dire consequences perhaps at the behest of the law makers
In the recent during the turmoil of the Kashmir valley the local channels have been banned for revealing the truth since than district magistrate has banned them from telecasting the news and current affairs on the other hand at the same time the Jammu (winter Capital of Kashmir) agitation spare headed by the BJP (communal Hindu Fanatics) have every right to wield their swords and brandish their fire arms to threaten the lives of the particular community. The programes in the Jammu have the patronage of the Indian Government to say anything and to telecast all the events through local channels but nothing refrains them from provoking and no question of ban. The slogan of the secularism of the constitution is perhaps just a say.
The curfew was imposed in Jammu and Indian army was deployed to control the frenzy mob and at many places the Kashmiri drivers were beaten to pulp and two deaths claimed the violence under the nose of Indian troops. Should i call it democracy, Secularism Mobocracy or any other name? The Journalism is Kashmir is at perils and we can not freely express our views or expressions as most of the newspapers of Indian Administered Kashmir do not circulate their papers for the last one week the reason is best known to the authorities.
